I do hereby give you Notice that I intent to exhibit my
Petition and Appeal to his Majesty's Justices of the peace at the
next general Session of the peace to be holden for the County
of Middlesex at the Session House on Clerkenwell Green in the
said County on Monday the Eighteenth day of February next
against a Certain Rate or Assessment made on or about the
Twenty sixth day of MaylastOne thousand Seven hundred and ninety Eight for the relief and Maintenance
of the Poor of the Parish of Saint Mary le bone in the
County of Middlesex and for the other Expences included
in the said Rate and also a certain other Rate or assessment
made on or about the said Twenty sixth day of May One thousand
Seven hundred and ninety eight for repairing the Highways
and Causeways within the said Parish which said Rates
respectively purport to be made for one whole year commencing
the first day of January One thousand Seven hundred and Ninety
Eight and ending on the Thirty first day of December in the
said Year and against the Determination of the Vestrymen
of the said Parish upon an application made by me to them
for relief in pursuance of the Statute in that Case made and
provided inasmuch as I find myself aggrieved by the said
Several Rates and Assessment and dissatisfied with the
determination of the said Vestrymen for that I am in and
by the said several Rates or assessments and by the said
Determination Rated and assessed for Certain Lands and
premises in the said Parish in my Occupation called Saint
John's Wood Farm at a much greater Sum of Money than I
ought to be and for that the said several rates and assessments
are and each of them is in many Instances partial and unequal
and particularly in that I am in and by each of the said
Rates or Assessments Rated and assessed in respect of my said
Lands and premises at a much larger Sum of Money in
proportion to the yearly value thereof than Thomas Willan< no role >
