Inner Temple 23d. Novr. 1796

Sir
The Surveyor of the Brantford Turnpike
Road, having at a Board of Trustees that was held on
Saturday the 12th.. of this instt. Novr. Reported, that the
Footway of Brentford Bridge had given way, and that
in Consequence he had procured a Carpenter & Builder
in the neighbourhood to look at it with him, when they
discovered that several of the Joists were broke and many
others much decayed whereby that part of the Bridge was
very likely to fall unless something was done speedily to
prevent it I trouble you with this therefore agreable
to an Order of that Board to request that you will lay the
above matter before the Magistrates at their next
Session, and desire them to give immediate directions
to their surveyor, to put the Order which was long ago
made for the repair of the said Bridge in to immediate
