Be it Remembered that on the 9th day of
September 1796 Jas. Robinson< no role > one of the surveyors of the Highways of the
Parish of saint Pancras in the said County informeth & make
Oath before me Samuel Froyster< no role > Esquire one of his Majesty's
Justices of the peace for the said County that the several persons
whose Names are in the Schedule hereunto annexed were Inhabi
tants and occupiers of Lands Terements or Heriditaments within the sd
Parish in the Months of November and december last and were then
chargeable with And liable to the payment of the several Sums of
Money placed against their respective Names for and towards
the repairs of the Highways of the said Parish according to his the said
Deponents Knowledge and belief And the said deponent further
informeth and maketh Oath that on Sunday in the month of
November last due and proper notice was given in the Church and
several Chapels of the said Parish and the like notice in such Church
and Chapels on the next succeeding Sunday of the time and place
when and where the persons permitted under the Authority of the
Act of the 13th Year of his presents Majesty's Reign for the amendment
and preservation of the Highways (and who were inclined to compound
for their statute Duty and pay their contribution) might signify
to the surveyors of the said Parish their Intention so to do, And
that the said deponent did attend at the time and place of which
such Notice was given as aforesaid And that the said seven
persons named in the said schedule did not nor did any or either
them then pay or hath any or either of them yet paid the sum or said
to which he she or they was or were respectively liable as aforesaid
although he the said deponent Collector hath many times applied to the said
several Persons for the same who have refused payment thereof And
that the said Several sums and every part thereof are yet in
Arrear and unpaid contrary to the statute made in the thirty
year of the Reign of His said Majesty King George the Thirty
for the Amendment and preservation of the Highways which
imposed Forfeitures on the said several persons of the said several
sums opposite their respective Names for the said several Offen
