19th: August 1795

The Committee for the Relief of the
Industrious poor of the Parish of Saint Anne having been
this day presented with the sum of £32..5..6. as the
Contribution of the Officers and privates of the Saint Annes
Corps of Gentlemen Volunteers for the said Benevolent
purpose desire to return their unanimous and grateful thanks to
the said Officers and privates and to take this Opportunity to
express to them the high Sense they in common with the
rest of the parishioners entertain of their Loyalty public
Spirit and disinterested Patriotism in standing forth at their
own expence in support of our happy Constitution and the
protection of Legal Liberty and Property and at the same
time they lament that any occasion has occurred to call
for their Assistance in support of the civil Magistrate they
are happy to find that through their exertions the public
quiet was restored and private property preserved; and
they therefore beg leave to transmit to them their grateful
Acknowledgements equally impressed by the Services of their
personal Exertions in Defence of the property of Individuals
and with their very liberal contribution to a General
Fund
