William Turner< no role > a Brentford in the County of
Middlesex Clerk at Nathaniel Bland< no role > Esquire
Magistrate resident there, maketh Oath that
He this Deponent standing indicted and having
given Notice of Tryae for Tuesday the first day of the
present Session issued Venire subpenared
by witnesses and prepared by Brief for Council
accordingly but this Deponent saith that the
prosecution arising from the Misconsheat of
Justice Spiller, he with a pre Knowledge of this
Deponent's being under Recognizance to try his
Traverse issued Warrants and cause him this
Deponent on that Day to be taken into Custody
as a Deserter from some of his Majestys Ships of
War by means whereof this Deponent was not
only prevented from Attending the Court for
the purpose aforesaidbutwas violently
Assaulted out and wounded by several person
belonging to the Diamond Frigate who with
many others victously assembled at Brentford
aforesaid And further saith that not withs lands
such Warrants had been supersealed this
Deponent remained in Custody the greater part
of that Day and was in the afternoon committed
to Newgate.
