the Same in order to Compel his Appearance to give Evidence [..]
the Part of the Defendant on the Trial of the Traverse of the
above Indictment and upon this Deponent Enquiring after the
said Thomas Edwards< no role > he was Informed by his Wife and
Servants that the said Thomas Edwards< no role > went from home onthe
Wednesday the Eighth day of January Instant and was gone
to the City of Bristol or Near there on Particular Business
and that he would not return Until the and of the next
ensuing Week or later and that this Deponent Could not by
any means Obtain the Service of the said Subpoena on the
said Thomas Edwards< no role > and that this Deponent is Informed and
Verily Beleives the said Thomas Edwards< no role > is a Material and in
Necessary Witness to be Produced on the Part of the Defendant
on the Trial of the Traverse of the above Indictment and
this Deponent further Saith that he did on the Eleventh day
of January Instant Personally Serve the above Named
Prosecutor with a true Copy of the Notice hereto Annexed by
Delivering the same to him at his Dwelling House or Place
of abode Situate in Ship and Anchor Yard Temple bar in the
County of Middlesex .
