The Order of James Pettit Andrews< no role > and Hugh Cleghorn< no role >
esquires two of his Majesty's Justices of
the Peace in and for the said County of Middlesex one whereof is
acting in the public office near Queen Square in the parish of Saint Margaret Westminster and near the
of the Quorum, and both [..]
[..] Hamlet of
Hammersmith in the said County which Hamlet
Maintaineth ill own poor
made the Sixth Day of September
in the year of our Lord one thousand seven
hundred and ninety three
concerning a Male
Bastard Child, lately born in the Hamlet of Hammersmith
aforesaid, of the Body of
Penelope Perry< no role > Single Women.

WHEREAS it hath appeared unto us the said Justices, as well upon the Complaint
of the Church Warden [..] and Overseers of the Poor of the said Hamlet of
Hammersmith as upon the Oath of the said Penelope Perry< no role >
that the the said Penelope Perry< no role > on the Seventeenth Day of
June now last past was delivered of a Male Bastard Child, at the
Hamlet of in the said Hammersmith aforesaid in the said
County and that the said Male Bastard Child is likely to be chargeable
to the said Hamlet and further that Thomas Jones< no role >
of Stard Green in the [..] Hamlet of Hammersmith aforesaid in the said County husband man did beget the said
Bastard Child on the Body of her the said Penelope Perry< no role > and Whereas
it hath been duly proved to us upon oath that the said Thomas Jones< no role > hath
been duly summoned to appear before us the said Justices to the end we
might examine into the cause and circumstance of the promises And whereas the
said Thomas Jones< no role > hath neglected to appear before us according to the said Summons
We therefore, upon Examination of the Cause and Circumstance of the Premises, as
well upon the Oath of the said Penelope Perry< no role > as otherwise, do hereby
adjudge him the said Thomas Jones< no role > to be the reputed Father of the
said Bastard Child.

And thereupon we do order, as well for the better Relief of the said [..]
Hamlet of Hammersmith as for the Sustentation and Relief of the said Bastard Child, that
the said Thomas Jones< no role > shall and do forthwith, upon Notice of this our Order,
pay or cause it to be paid to the said Church Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the
said Hamlet of Hammersmith or to some or one of them, the Sum of One Guinea
for and towardsthe Lying in of the saidandthe Main
tenance of the said Bastard Child, to the Time of making this our Order.

And we do also hereby further order, that the said Thomas Jones< no role > shall likewise
pay, or cause to be paid, to the Church Warden [..] and Overseers of the Poor of the said
Hamlet for the Time being, or to some or one of them, the Sum of
two shillings and Six pence Weekly and every Week from the present Time, for and towards the
Keeping, Sustentation, and Maintenance of the said Bastard Child, for and during so long
Time as the said Bastard Child shall be chargeable to the said Hamlet

And we do further order, that the said Penelope Perry< no role > shall also pay
or cause to be paid to the said Church Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said
Hamlet for the Time being, or to some or one of them, the Sum of
fifteen pence Weekly and every Week, so long as the said Bastard Child
shall be chargeable to the said Hamlet in case the shall not nurse
and take care of the said Child herself.
