Thomas Carpenter< no role > of the New Road in the Parish
of Saint Marylebone in the County of Middlesex Messenger
to the Directors and Guardians of the Poor of the said Parish
Maketh Oath and saith that one Mary Buckland< no role > having by
her voluntary Examination in Writing upon Oath before Charles
Sheppard
< no role > Esquire one of his Majesties Justices of the Peace in
and for the said County declared hereself to be with Child
likely to be born a Bastard and to be chargeable to the said
Parish and that Samuel Durham< no role > a Footman belonging to
Baron Hotham of Bloomsbury Square in the said County
did beget the said Child The said Justices issued his Warrant
for the apprehending the said Samuel Durham< no role > who being
apprehended thereon Joseph Dixon< no role > and Joseph Powle< no role > on the
fourth day of July now last past entered into the usual
recognizance before John Scott< no role > Esquire also one of his
Majesties Justices of the Peace for the said County for the
Appearance of the Said Samuel Durham< no role > And this
Deponent further sith that he hath this Day been informed
by the Brother and Sister of the said Mary Buckland< no role > that
She the said Mary Buckland< no role > is not yet delivered of the said
Child and that she hath Six Weeks to go therewith which
Information this Deponent verily believes to be true And
this Deponent further saith that on the twelfth Day of
September instant he personally served the said Joseph
Dixon
< no role > and Joseph Powle< no role > with the Notice hereunto
annexed by delivering to and leaving with each of them a
true Copy thereof.
