The King on the Prosecution

For an
Assault

JamesWilliamOldhall< no role > of Paradise Row Chelsea in
the County of Middlesex Upholsterer -and John Close< no role > of the
same Place Upholsterer the above named Defendant severally make
Oath and say And first this Deponent JamesWilliamOldhall< no role > for
himself saith that he did by the direction of the said other
Deponent John Close< no role > on the TwentiethNineteenthday of June Instant
personally serve the above named Prosector with a Notice
in Writing purporting that the said John Close< no role > intended to
appear at the then next General Sessions of the Peace to be
holden at the New Sessions House on Clerkenwell Green
in and for the County of Middlesex on Tuesday the
Twenty fifth day of June Instant at Nine of the Clock
in the Forenoon of the same Day and then and there take
his Trial and plead Not Guilty to the Bill of Indictment
by the said Charles Gilmore< no role > preferred and found against
the said John Close< no role > And the said other Deponent John
Close
< no role > for himself saith that he this Deponent fully intended
to take his Trial agreeable to the said Notice and
for that purpose applied on Tuesday last for a
Venire And this Deponent further saith that not
having employed any Attorney in the said Cause he
did not know that there was any necessity for
applying for such Venire previous to the Commencement
