William Mainwaring< no role > Esqr . the Chairman informed the Committee
that he had caused them to be called together in consequence of a Letter
which he had received from Rt. Honble Henry Dunley< no role > the Secretary of State for the Home department enclosing a Certificate of
the surgeon and apothecary to Clerkenwell Bridewell and having laid the
Certificate and Letter before the Committee the same were Read as follows Vizt.
White Hall 19th Jany 1793

Sir,
Inclosed I transmit you by the Kings Command a Certificate of the
Surgeon and apothecary attending Clerkenwell Bridewell of the ill state of
Health of several Prisoners confined in that Prison, and I am to desire that you
will immediately report to me for His Majestys Information a state of their
respective Cases, together with your Opinion how far they may be Objects
deserving his Majestys Mercy
