To the Worshipful his Majesties Justices
of the Peace for the County of Middlesex at their
General Quarter Session of the Peace Assembled

The humble Petition and Appeal of the
Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor
of the Parish of West Ham in the County
of Essex

Sheweth


That by virtue of an Order under the hands and
Seals of Robert Smith< no role > and S. D Liptrap Esquires two of his
Majesties Justices of the Peace for the County of Middlesex (one
being of the Quorum) bearing Date the Twenty fourth Day of
March one thousand seven hundred and Eighty nine John Roff< no role >
and Sarah Smith< no role > (in the said Order Called Sarah his Wife) and
a Child Named. John < no role > Aged about Sixteen Months the Natural
Son of the said Sarah were removed from the Hamlet of Mile
end old Town in the Parish of Saint Dunstan Stepney. in the
said County of Middlesex unto the said Parish of West Ham
in the County of Essex as the Place of their last legal Settlement

Your Petitioners Conceiving themselves Aggrieved
by the said Order. Appeal to this Honourable Court
against the same and humbly Pray your Worships
to Appoint a Day to hear and Determine the same
And your Petitioners shall ever Pray Etc

At the General Quarter Session of the Peace of our Lord the King holden
in and for the County of Middlesex at the Session House Clerkenwell in the County
of Middlesex on Monday the Twentieth Day of April one thousand seven hundred
and Eighty nine

It is Ordered that the Churchwardens and overseers of the
Poor of the Hamlet of Mile end Old Town in the Parish of
Saint Dunstan Stepney in the County of Middlesex have Notice
of this appeal and that this and all Parties Concerned do Attend
this Court on Thursday next at Nine of the Clock in the Forenoon on
the Matters of this Petition and Appeal to hear and abide the
Judgment and Determination of the said Court touching the said Appeal
