deplerable and filthy State and that in consequence thereof
many of them were obliged to be kept therein for a fortnight
and upwards before it was possible for them to be removed

Mr Harwood Governor of the House of Correction at
Clerkenwell being called in stated to the Court that the said
John Edwards< no role > a Vagrant was sent to the said Gaol from
Shadwell by peter Greene< no role > Esqr . one of his Majestys Justices of
the peace for this County in a very weak and dangerous State
both in regard to himself and the health of the prisoners in
general [..] to come in here

Mr Chairman stated to the Court that the Commee
appointed at the last Session" to etc
had met in pursuance of the Order of Referrence to them made
and that a Letter had been sent by the said Committee to the
Lord Mayor and Court of Alderman requesting that a Conference
might be had with them respecting the present mode of conveying
Vagrants from the City of London thro' this County that such
Conference with the City had not as yet been had but that
he had recd a Letter ponthia mayor informing him that he had
he was to see the [..] Mayor in the subject in the cause of a
communicated to the Cot. of a Aldeman the lated he had recd from the
few daysCommittee and that the Ct. had desired the Ld Mayor to
have an Intenriew with him on the Subject but that the same
had not yet taken place.

[..] Resolved that a Circular Letter be sent to His Majestys
Jusices of the Peace acting in and for this County recommending it
to them to take Carethat they orthat the Paupers are in a proper state tobe
removed before they sign any Pass Warrant for that purpose
