by the Court as a proper Seite for a New House of Correction be the
Ground on which a New House of Correction for this County be Erected
after debate this motion by [..] of Court was withdrawn

Moved that the further Consideration of the Plans
of a House of Correction be postponed till the County day of next Session
in Order to afford an Opportunity to Enquire whether the whole or what
part of Mr Jervoises ground in Cold Bath fields can be obtained
and at what price and whether any other Ground in the Neighbourhood
of the Session House can be procured for the purpose of Erecting a
New House of Correction thereon agreed to

Ordered that an Advertisement be Inserted to
Three of the Morning News papers giving notice that the said
Plans and also the piece of Ground situate in Cold Bath fields
will be further Considered on Thursday the Twenty fourth day of
February next being the County day of the next Session and that
the Clerk of the peace do give Notice Hereof by Letter to His Majtys
Justices of the peace for this County

A Letter from Mr Hurst the person who's Plan of a House of
Correction obtained the first premium being laid before the Court
of which the following is a Copy.

Having obtained the first premium for a Design for a House of
"Correction for the County of Middlesex . I shall esteem it a particular favour
"if you will present my most Grateful acknowledgments to the Gentlemen
"in the Commission who have Honoured me with so flattering a decision
"As upon Enquiry I understand that the Gentlemen have appointed Jacob
"Leroux
< no role > Esquire as their Architect for carrying their Designs into Execution
"I feel myself restrained from any Application for that office which the
decision
