Sir

Montpelier House
Kensington 29th. Nov. 1784

Tho it is impossible to put a total
Stop to Vice, I do think the Magis
trates might recommend some
Preventives, particularly by enforcing
the Observance of the Sabbath, and
instituting Sunday Schools as at
Gloucester, Leeds Etc. where the good
Effects have been proved. A Circular
Letter to the Church Wardens, and
Overseers of the Poor, of every
Parish in this County wou'd be
no Intrusion on the Clergy, and
might open the Eyes of some to
Justice and Humanity.

Your Just Weight with the Chairman
wou'd induce him to adopt some Plan

I am with great Respect,

I return you

Sir,
Your most hble Servt.
H. J. Hansard

J Ans Esqr .
Clerk of the Peace
Clerkenwell
