The Appeal is from Ann Magsby< no role > the Pauper & States that her Husband had been gone to Sea
and that she expects him in about Two Months

That Petitioner lodged in the parish of Saint George Middlesex in good Credit but not having any
Allowance in the Absence of her Husband and being left with 2 Children was unable to support herself & them
on which Petr. applied to the Officers of the parish of Saint George for Relief

That Petr. was Examined as to her Settlement & Signed the Examination Annexed to the sd. Vagrant Pass but
was not Informd that the Preamble to the sd. Pass contained a Referrence wherein [..] Petr. and her Children was described
as Vagabonds & had been Apprehended as such-

That Petr. was Conducted to the I Cause of the Revd. Dr. Mayo One of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the
said County of Middx where Petr. had been since Informed that she & her Children was Charged before the said
Justice with being Vagabonds (Vizt) Wandering Abroad and laying in the Open Air in the sd. parish of Saint George

That the sd. Revd. Dr. Mayo did not Acquaint Petr. with the Charge made against her

That Petr. and her Children was by the sd. Vagrant Pass forthwith Conveyed by One of the Officers from the
sd. Parish of St. George to the sd. parish of St. Paul Shadwell & there Delivered to One of the Overseers of the Poor

That Petr. never Wandered Abroad & laid in the Open Air as Stated in the sd. Pass or Committed any
Act of Vagrancy whatsoever either in the sd. parish of St. George or elsewhere but on the Contrary hath Constantly
demean'd herself in a Decent & Reputable manner & never was in a Situation to be deem'd under the
Odious description of a Vagabond

That Petr. conceived herself aggrieved by the Act of the sd. Justice in having Sign'd the before mentioned
Pass declaring that Petr. and her Children had been Apprehended as Vagabonds & by Petr. & her Children
having been Conveyed as such out of the sd. parish of St. George to the sd. parish of Saint Paul Shadwell

The Pauper before she was Removed Applied several times to the Parish Offices
of Shadwell for Relief but they refused to receive her without a Pass and she having-
no place of Abode was Removed in the Absence of Mr. Wright by a Vagrant
Order, & Mr Wright on hearing the Circumstance Informed the Vestry Clerk of
Shadwell he would receive back the Pauper, pay the Expence of his Maintenance
and said her with a Legal Order. but he said the Overseers of Shadwell Insisted
an Appeching against same

The Ground of the Paupers Removal is, that her Husband Rented as
House in Love Lane Shadwell at £8 P Ann. and paid Land Tax for same

Mr. Wright Trusts that having offered to receive back the Pauper and
said her by a Legal Order as well as pay the Maintenance, that the Order will
be Quashed without Cort
