Wardrobe Court

Sheweth
That Your Petitioner is established in the
Profession of a Surveyor
after having been regularly bred
to the same, is of the Age of 24, and hath an increasing
family to support: Therefore humbly craves leave of
Your Worships, to be admitted a Candidate for the Office
of Surveyor (under the Building Act of the 14th. Geo. 3rd.) to
the district of St. James and St John Clerkenwell
, vacant
by the decease of the late Mr: Sutton: Which Office should
he be so happy as to be appointed to, Your Petitioner
begs leave to assure your Worships, that he will by a
faithful and constant attention to the duties thereof,
endeavor to render himself worthy sheir Choise.
And, as in duly bound, your Petitioner shall
ever Pray.
