St. George Hanover Square Appellants
agst.
St. James Westminster Respondents

In an Appeal against an Order under the Hands
and Seals of John Clarkes< no role > and William Tyler< no role > Esqr. two
of His Majesty's Justices of the Peace & bearing date
the 6th. day of December last whereby Harriot Villers
Cross Singlewoman aged about fifty Years was removed
and Conveyed from the said Parish of Saint James to
the said Parish of Saint George as the place of her last
legal Settlement

Case
Harriot Villers Cross< no role > the Pauper in her Examination taken upon Oath
the 6th. Day of December 1783 at the instance of the Respondents
Saith "That she is about Fifty Years Old and never was married
"bound Apprentices a Yearly hired Servant for one whole Years or rented
"a Ten Pounds by the Year that her Father Hugh Cross< no role > as she hath
"been informed and believes was a Native of Edinburgh and never
"rented Ten Pounds by the Year or did any Act to gain a Settlement
"in England to the best of her knowledge and belief; that her said
"Father and her Mother (Syth Robinson< no role > ) were married in the
"Parish Church of Saint George Hanover Square on the 6th Day of
"February 1732 and that her mother at that time was a Yearly
"hired Servant to Mr. Pitt and had been so for several Years
"before at Yearly Wages that the last forty days of her said Service
"before her said Marriage was in Little Grosvenor Street in the
"Parish of Saint George Hanover Square aforesaid in the Liberty
"of Westminster ,"

NB. Notice is given to the Appellants to produce the Pauper to prove
the above Case
