Minutes of the Committee appointed to Treat with the people
called Quakers for the purchase of the Ground and Buildings situate
in the parish of Saint James Clerkenwell near to Clerkenwell
Bridewell

Messrs . Vlagen, Mildred, Sterry, Chester, and Woods produced to the
Committee the following Paper Vizt.

"At a Six Weeks Meeting held by Adjournment the 23d. of the 9th
"Month 1783

"This Meeting having taken into consideration the Resolutions
"of the Justices of Middlesex respecting the purchase of the School Workhouse
"at Clerkenwell appoints the follwing friends or any two of them to meet the
"Committee of Justices, and complete the Agreement on the terms of our

It being proposed to Messrs. Hagen Mildred, Sterry, Chester
and Woods that His Majestys Justices of the Peace of the Peace will pray the purchase
Money by the following Instalments Vizt. £400 on having possession of
the Garden Ground £400 more in Six Months after such possession and
£800 the remainder of the purchase Money on having possession of the
remaining part of the premises; the said Terms were agreed to
