Middlesex


At the General Quarter Session of the Peace of our Lord the King
holden in and for the County of Middlesex at the Session House for the
said County by adjournment on Thursday the seventeenth day of October
in the twenty second Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George
the Third King of Great Britain Etc before William Mainwaring< no role >
Esquire The Reverend Sir George Booth< no role > Baronet George Allcock< no role > David
Walker
< no role > Esquires and others their Fellows Justices of our said lord the King
assigned to Keep the Peace in the County aforesaid and also to hear and
determine divers Felonies Trespasses and other misdemeanors committed
in the said County.

Where as by Virtue of a late Act of Parliament made in the fourth Year of the
Reign of King Henry the Eighth intilled ''An Act made for Powterers and two Weights
[..] is given to his Majestys Justices of the Peace within every Shire
[..] General Quarter Session holden at Michaelmas to assign and appoint two
[..] having experience the win to make Search after Base or unlawful
[..] delivered or false Beams and Wrights of the Wares in the said
[..] by the persons in the aforesaid Act in that behalf
[..] offences against the said act of Parliament in carry part of
[..] with in Franchise as without saving in Citys or Borroughs where
[..] be appointed by the Heads and Governors of the same And Where as
[..] unlawfull Rules or Brass as the Searches shall find the one half is to
[..] our Sovereign Lord the King and his other half to the said
[..] by virtue of the said Statute And whereas in default of the Masters
[..] in the said Occupations not Searching in form as is aforesaid and
whereby that any such unlawful Metal is cast or made or unlawful Weights
used It be by the said Act en acted that it shall and may be lawful for any person
having sufficient comming and knowledge in the said Occupations by Oversight
of the Mayers Bailiffs and Hard Officers of the said Citys and Boroughs to search
all the said places and to put the said Autherity and Act in Execution inform
aforesaid And whereas it appeareth into this Court that no person or
persons is or are at present appointed for the ensuring Year for the purposes
aforesaid in the County aforesaid And that by reason of the defect there of several
Offences against the above in past reated Act may be undiscovered and unpunished
It is therefore Ordered by this Court here that John Townsend< no role > of Goodmans
Fields in the said County of Middlesex pewterer and William Fasson< no role > of High
Holborn in the same County Pewterer (they having good experience there in) be
and they are hereby nominated and appointed Searchers of Base or unlawful
Powter and Brass and of deceisable or false Beams and Weights of the Wared
in the said Act in that respect specified occupied by the persons in the aforesaid
