And having informed the Committee that part of the House of
Correction
at Clerkenwell
which is set a part for Men Prisoners was
very much Crouded with prisoners whereby the health of the prisoners
was endangered. Your Committee Proceeded to Examine the same
and it appearing that part of a Yard adjoining made use of for the
purpose of Wetting and preparing the Oakum might be thrown into
the Mens part of the prison Your Committee Ordered the same
to be immediately done us the only means of remedying the Evil
complained of
