Now this Court taking the Premises into consideration and being
desirous to remove every unnecessary delay in the execution of
public business within their Jurisdiction Do hereby recommend it
to his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for this County when any person
or persons shall be bound over in a recognizance before them to
prosecute or give evidence in cases of felony or other capital Offences
committed within the County of Middlesex to make the condition
of Such recognizance for the appearance of the Party or Parties
at the then next Session of the Peace (or Session of Oyer and
Terminer according to the native of the Offence) to be holden in
and for the said County of Middlesex & within the first three.
days Vide printed Order Book Page 28 Sectn. 3 thereof to prefer the Indictment and give evidence to the
Grand Jury thereon, and if the Indictment shall be returned a
true Bill then forthwith to prosecute the Law with Effect and
give evidence at the Session of Goal Delivery of Newgate for
the said County upon the trial of such person so Indicted
according to this form Vide Printed Order Book Edition 1766 Page.7 (Vizt) "The condition of this recognizance is
"that it the said A B etc do personally appear at the next
"General (or General Quarter) Session of the peace (or General
"Session of Oyer and Terminer, if proper as in the case of
" Forgery etc) to be holden in and for the said County of Middx
"and within the three first days thereof prefer a Bill of Indictment
"and give evidence thereon to the Grand Jury Against
"for and in case such Indictment shall be returned a
"True Bill then the said A B etc personally to appear at the
"now next Session of Gaol Delivery of Newgate to be holden for the
