To His Majestys Justices of the Peace for the
County of Middlesex in their General Session of the
Peace holden for the said County in the month of
September 1782 assembled

The Humble Petition of John
Boddington
< no role > of Cow Cross Street in
the parish of Saint Sepulchre in
the County of Middlesex Baker

Sheweth


That your Petitioner understanding that
Mr Thomas Hurford< no role > High Constable of Finsbury
Division wishes to be discharged from the said
Office your Petitioner begs leave to after himself as a
fit and proper person to succeed the said Thomas
Hurford
< no role > as Hugh Constable of the said Division and
you Petitioner is induced to make this application
from his knowledge of the Duties of the office having
assisted Mr Hurford therein Ten Years now last
past

That Your Petitioner having applied
to the acting Magistrates of the said Division for their
recommendation has subscribed the same to this
Petition

Your Petitioner therefore humbly
Prays your Worships to appoint
him to the said Office

And Your Petitioner as in duty bound will
ever Pray Etc
