the Peace at their Sessions at Hix's Hall

The humble Peticon of Richard Sutton< no role >
of Finchley in the County of Middx

Sheweth


That Your Petr. was on the Eight of
Aprill instant 1708. at a Court field for the Mannor of
Finchley chosen Constable for East End in the said Parish.

That Your Petr. Served the said Office above Twenty
Years agoe, in the Parish of St. Dunstan in the West
London.

That he is now incapable of Serving the said Office
by reason of his Age, being above Sixty Eight.

That Your Worps at a Session in this Court
thought him incapable at Christmas last by reason of his
Age, and Infirmity to discharge the Office of Surveyor of the
Highwayes , To which he was then Chosen. and Your Petr.
is now much more infirme, than he was then, Haveing
been above a Fortnight Sick and weak. and under a
great Indisposicon of body.

All which did appear by Affidavitts at Westmr.

Your Petr. for the Reasons aforesaid
most humbly prayes this Honoble: Court
to grant him a Discharge from Serving the
said Office; which it is impossible for him
to Execute.

And Your Petr. as in duty
bound shall ever pray Etc.
