therefore refused to accept the said thirty Pounds or consent to the said
Petition and went home to their House at Edgware 's thereupon the
Defendt. was committed to Clerkenwell Bridewell whose he still
continues And this Depont. further saith that he did yesterday in the
Evening the sixteenth of this instant February serve the Prosecutrix &
prosecutor severally with a Notice in Writing purporting that this Court
would be moved on the Morrow or as soon as Counsel' could be heard
That the Fines set on the Deft on the Trial of the above Indictmts might be
mitigated by delivering such to the said Prosecutrix at her House at
Edgware and at the same time tendering to her the said Sum of thirty
Pounds which she absolutely refused to take And this Depont. further
saith that this Depont. would likewise have served the Prosecutor
with the like Notice and made the like tender to him but the prosecutor
and William Brookshead< no role > the Elder her husband both declared that
although the said Prosecutor William Brookshead< no role > the Younger was
at home it was to no Purpose seeing him as he would not accept the
the said Money & therefore this Depont. left the said Notice with the said
William Brookshead< no role > the Elder the prosecutors Father And this
Deponent further saith that he did likewise serve a like Notice or
the said Mr Deacon at his house at Watford by delivering such Notice
to Sarah Leverett< no role > the said Mr. Deacons Maid Servant as she informed
this Deponent.
