The Following report from the Session house Committee being
read Vizt.
To his Majesty's Justices of the Peace
for
the County of Middlesex
in their General
Quarter Session Assembled
The Report of the Committee of his Majesties Justices of
the Peace
for the County of Middlesex
appointed to
enquire after a proper piece of Ground whereon to erect
a Session house of this County
The said Committee Report
That having been advised that some part of Ely house in
Holborn may be obtained for the Purpose of erecting a Session house
thereon for this County, and that the most probable way of
procureing the same will be by Petition from the Justices of the
Peace for this County to the Lords of the Treasury
and having
requested Sir John Hawkins< no role >
to Frame the said Petition and
empowered the Clerk to get the same Signed, This Committee do
recommend that the Court do authorize Sir John Hawkins< no role >
, Sir
George Booth< no role >
and John Brettell< no role >
Esquire (they taking Robert
Taylor< no role >
Esquire to their assistance) to present the said
Petition and make such other Application fot the obtaining
the said Ground as may seem meet
It was moved and Seconded that this Court do agree
with the said report and the Question being put upon holding
up of Hands there appeared for the Question Seventeen against
it Two Whereupon it was Ordered that Sir John Hawkins< no role >

and John Brettell< no role >
Esquire (they taking Robert
Taylor< no role >
Esquire to their assistance) do forthwith present as
Petition to the Lords Commissioners of the Treasury
in the
name of the whole Body of the Justices of the peace
for the County of
Middlesex
(the said Petition being first signed by as many
Gentlemen in the Commission of the Peace as may chuse to set
their Names thereto which Petition the Deputy Clerk of the Peace is
hereby empowered to Solicit) Praying a Grant of a part of the
site of Ely house in Holborn to the said Justices and their
Successors for the Purpose of erecting a Session house thereon
