the rest of the Inhabitants of the said Parishes Exhibit to the Justices of our said Lord the King last<lb></lb>
abovementioned their petition and Appeal setting forth that <rs type="persName" id="LMSMPS50652_n625-8">William Clarke</rs>

an Householder and<lb></lb>
Inhabitant of the said Parish of <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMPS50652_geo367">Saint Giles in the fields</rs>

served the Office of Overseer of the Poor of the said<lb></lb>
Parish for the Year ending at or about Easter then last, and did during his said Office by virtue of a Rate<lb></lb>
duly made for that purpose and otherwise collect and receive divers sums of Money for the Relief and<lb></lb>
Support of the Poor of the said Parishes and after having collected and received such sums of Money did refuse<lb></lb>
and neglect to apply the same to and for the relief and Support of such Poor but did retain a great part thereof<lb></lb>
in his hands a Long time after the expitation of his said Office and until he was compelled by Law to deliver<lb></lb>
the same over to his Successors That being thereunto compelled as aforesaid he the said <rs type="persName" id="LMSMPS50652_n625-9">William Clarke</rs>

delivered an account verifyed upon his oath before two of his Majesty's Justices of the peace for the said County<lb></lb>
said to be a true account of all monies by him received and paid by virtue of his said Office which said<lb></lb>
Account the petitioners apprehended did not contain nor was charged with all and every sum and Sums<lb></lb>
of Mony by him received as aforesaid That in Discharge of the Monies said by him to be collected and received<lb></lb>
the said Account did Contain Charges of very large Sums of Mony said to be paid to casual poor without stating<lb></lb>
any particulars of the necessities of such poor or whether they belonged to the said Parishes or either of them or any<lb></lb>
reasons why the said monies were paid nor did he the said <rs type="persName" id="LMSMPS50652_n625-10">William Clarke</rs>

Payments that the said <rs type="persName" id="LMSMPS50652_n625-11">William Clarke</rs>

<interp inst="LMSMPS50652_n625-11" type="gender" value="male"></interp>
had in the opinion of the said Petitioners been very negligent in<lb></lb>
collecting the Rate made as aforesaid for the relief of the poor of the said Parishes during his said Office<lb></lb>
and had misapplied a great part of the Mony that was by him collected and received his said Account<lb></lb>
containing many charges which the petitioners apprehended were very unreasonable Whereby the petitioners<lb></lb>
found themselves aggrieved Whereupon at the request of the said Petitioners It was ordered by the<lb></lb>
Court that the benefit of their said Appeal should be saved unto them and that the hearing and determination<lb></lb>
thereof should be and the same were then and there adjourned until the then next General Quarter Session of<lb></lb>
the peace of our Lord the King to be holden for the said County And that on Notice therefore in the mean<lb></lb>
time to be given to the said <rs type="persName" id="LMSMPS50652_n625-12">William Clarke</rs>
