this 11 day of Jan.<lb></lb>
1773, We found it in a very dangerous state<lb></lb>
and are of opinion that the same of the great<lb></lb>
weight of water or force of the streem against<lb></lb>
the North end of the Bridge is from a large<lb></lb>
Eight or Osier Bed above the Bridge,<obscured></obscured>
<lb></lb>
runs out into the bed of the River so for as to<lb></lb>
divert the currant violently from the south<lb></lb>
side to the North, which with be the case in time<lb></lb>
of Flood.</p>
<p n="685">To remedy this it will be necessary (and<lb></lb>
indeed in the only mean which appear to us<lb></lb>
at present) to remove the above mentioned<lb></lb>
obstruction. so for as to give the main streem<lb></lb>
a direction to the midle of the Bridge making<lb></lb>
that part of the River deeper than on the North<lb></lb>
Show.</p>
<p n="686">We are also of opinion that the repair<lb></lb>
of the Abutment and Wharf above the Bridge<lb></lb>
night to be taken in hand so soon as the<lb></lb>
season with permit, and that some Piler be<lb></lb>
