upon a survey of the North or Middlesex
end of Chertsey Bridge this 11 day of Jan.
1773, We found it in a very dangerous state
and are of opinion that the same of the great
weight of water or force of the streem against
the North end of the Bridge is from a large
Eight or Osier Bed above the Bridge, [..]
runs out into the bed of the River so for as to
divert the currant violently from the south
side to the North, which with be the case in time
of Flood.

To remedy this it will be necessary (and
indeed in the only mean which appear to us
at present) to remove the above mentioned
obstruction. so for as to give the main streem
a direction to the midle of the Bridge making
that part of the River deeper than on the North
Show.

We are also of opinion that the repair
of the Abutment and Wharf above the Bridge
night to be taken in hand so soon as the
season with permit, and that some Piler be
imediatly drove down to secner the Beans of
the Abutment against the efforts of the [..]
Floods
