Cook Maketh Oath that
on or about the Third day of December last this
Deponent Entred into a Recognizance in the Penalty
of Twenty Pounds before John Machin< no role >
Esquire one
of his Majestys Justices of the Peace
for the said
County Conditioned for this Deponents Appearance
at the then next General Session of the Peace to
be holden at Hicks Hall in Saint John Street
in
and for the said County then and there to prefer a
Bill of Indictment before the Grand Jury against
Ann List< no role >
for feloniously Stealing a Mock Garnet
Necklace Value Ten pence the property of the
Deponent And this Deponent further Saith
that on Tuesday in December Sessions Week last this
Deponent Attended at Hicks Hall in order to have
preferred an Indictment against the said Ann

for the said Felony but had forget her Surname
And immediatly went to Bridewell
where she was
then Confirmed in order to get her Surname but [..]
could get no Information of it And Saith That the
next day (being Cook at the Bedford head in
Southampton Street
Covent Garden
) he had a large
Dinner to Dress (not being able to get one in his stead)
but in the Evening of that day he went to the Office in
Litchfield Street to get her Surname And intended to have
gone to Hicks Hall the next day (Thursday) but being
very busy that day at the said Tavern And being
Informed Friday would be time enough did not go
there that day But Saith that he went to Hicks Hall
