At the General Session of the Peace of our Lord the King begun and holden for
the County of Middlesex at Hicks Hall in Saint John Street in the said County.
On Tuesday the Fourteenth day of May in the Eleventh year of the Reign of
our Sovereign Lord George the Third King of Great Britain Etc And from thence
continued by Adjournment until Thursday the Sixteenth day of the same
Month of May and on the same Thursday being holden by Adjournment
aforesaid at Hicks Hall aforesaid Before John Hawkins< no role > the Right Honble

< no role > Esquires and others their Fellows Justices of our said Lord the King
Assigned to keep the peace in the County aforesaid and also to hear and determine
divers Felonies Trespasses and other Misdemeanors committed in the same County

Whereas Thomas Wilkinson< no role > Did at the last General Quarter Session of the Peace
held for this County at Hicks Hall aforesaid by Adjournment on Friday the Twelfth day
of April last Setting forth That the Petitioner by the Consent of his Father John Wilkinson< no role >
by Indenture dated the Twenty ninth day of June 1767. became bound Apprentice to
Christopher Shelton< no role > of the Parish of Saint Ann in the County of Middlesex Glazier to
learn the business of a Plumber Glazier and Painter and after the Manner of such
Apprentice to serve the said Christopher Shelton< no role > for the Term of Seven years then next
following and upon binding the Petitioner as aforesaid the Petitioners Father the said
Apprentice Fee That the Petitioner in pursuance of the said Indenture did enter into
the service of the said Christopher Shelton< no role > and continued faithfully to serve him as an
Apprentice from the day of the date thereof until the time herein after mentioned That
soon after the Petitioners entring into the service aforesaid the said Christopher Shelton< no role >
and Hannah his wife who hath great influence over the said Christopher instead of
putting the Petitioner to learn the said Trade hath from thenceforth hither to frequently
and generally employed the Petitioner in the respective services following, that is to say,
in Cleansing and scowering the Stairs and Kitchen of the Dwelling House wherein the
said Christopher Shelton< no role > Dwelleth; In Cleansing of Bricks as a day Labourer, In Cleansing
of Shoes, Feeding of Hoggs, Cleansing of Knives and carrying of Deals as a day Labourer
and divers other things And the said Christopher Shelton< no role > also compelled the Petitioner to
Aid and Assist him in the Running of Teas and divers spirituous Liquors from on
board Foreign Ships in Order to defeat his Majesty of his Revenues Whereby as the
Petitioner is now Advised the Pains and Penalties of diver Act of Parliament are
incurred and more especially of two Acts of Parliament made in the Eight and
Twelfth years of his late Majesty King George the Second All which things and services
the Petitioner hitherto hath Cheerfully complied with in hopes that at the End of his servitude
he might have had the benefit thereof That the said Hannah the Petitioners Mistress is a
most violent Termagant Woman getting frequently Drunk and abusing the Petitioner
and his Family without any cause whatsoever and often threatening to do bodily hurt
to the Petitioner and on the Eighteenth day of February last past in the Evening being
most abominably Drunk and having a great Antipathy against the Petitioner without
any cause whatsoever threatened to knock the Petitioner down and Advised the said
Christopher to beat the Petitioner telling him to beat the Dog and send him to the Watch
