For an Assault

John Howard< no role > of Wheeler Street in the Parish of Christ Church
Spittal Fields in the County of Middlesex Weaver Bail for the
Defendant in this Cause, and Francis Willoughby< no role > of Old Cock Lane in
the Parish of Saint Mathew Bethnal Green in the said County of
Middlesex Weaver a subscribing Witness to a General Release
executed by the above named Rovemtor William Hayward< no role > to the
Defendant Charles Lortheon< no role > dated the thirteenth Day of December
last, severally make Oath and Say, That the said Defendant declared
often that he would Appear at this Honourable Court and Plead Guilty
to the Indictment preferred against him And farther make Oath that
the said Defendant has been Impressed into his Majesties Service
and have heard and verily believe that the said Defendant is now
actually serving his Majesty on board his Ship the Northumberland
so that he cannot be produced to plead Guilty to the said Indictment
as intended.
