An Order Council dated October 12. 1770. Superscribed on the back
thereof On His Majesties ServiceTo our very good Lord

In His Graces Absence to the Deputy Lientenants of

We the Deputy Lientenants above named in the Absence of
his Grace the Duke of Northumberland Lord Lientenant of the
County of Middlesex
having taken into Consideration the above order
"praying and requiring his Grace and in his Deputy Lientenants
" to cause diligent Search and enquiry to be made with in our
"Leintenancy for all stragling Seamen and to secure all such as
"may be found fit for His Majesty's Service so that at the Justices
"of the Peace may cause them to be conveyed to the several
"Ports according to the Directions sent to them for that purposes"
Do to shew our readiness to obey the said Order, beg leave to recommend
to His Majesty's Justices of the Peace
for the said County of
Middlesex
to exert themselves viogorously upon this Occasion
