That by a certain Indenture bearing date the Twenty third day of<lb></lb>
November in the Year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred and Sixty Eight<lb></lb>
It is Witnessed that your Petitioner by and with the Consent and<lb></lb>
Approbation of his said Father did put himself Apprentice to the said<lb></lb>

that for and in Consideration of the Sum of Twenty one Pounds (the<lb></lb>
Receipt whereof he did thereby acknowledge) your Petitioner in the<lb></lb>
Art of Joiner and Cabinetmaker which he used by the best means<lb></lb>
that he could should Teach and Instruct or cause to be taught and<lb></lb>
Instructed as by the said Indenture relation being thereunto had<lb></lb>
may more fully and at large Appear.</p>
<p n="365">That your Petitioner is at Times imployed in Sweeping and cleaning of the<lb></lb>
House and the Windows thereof and in doing diverse and sundry other<lb></lb>
Household Work and business under the Direction of the Maid Servant guite<lb></lb>
Contrary to the said Trade and Business of a <rs type="occupation" id="LMSMPS50595_occ126">Joiner and Cabinetmaker</rs>

as<lb></lb>
also to the said Indenture of Apprenticeship</p>
<p n="366">That your Petitioner is an Infant about the Age of fifteen and that his<lb></lb>
said Master without any reasonable Cause whatsoever hath already at<lb></lb>
different Times struck and beat your Petitioner very much and that about the<lb></lb>
middle of the Month of February last he violently assaulted and beat your<lb></lb>
Petitioner and gave him a black Eye and upon every trifling Occasion<lb></lb>
threaten's to cut out his little Heart with a Saw or the first Tool he lays<lb></lb>
hold of</p>
<p n="367">That on Friday the third day of March last your Petitioners said Master<lb></lb>
without any Provocation or reasonable of Justifiable Cause whatsoever given<lb></lb>
him by Your Petitioner with a large knotted Cord did violently and<lb></lb>
unmercifully beat your Petitioner at two different Times on the same Day<lb></lb>
Insomuch that your Petitioner was bruised to that degree that he Underwent<lb></lb>
great Pain Torture and Anguish thereby for several Days afterward.</p>
