Middlesex to wit


{The Information of Mary< no role > the Wife of Thomas Miles< no role >
of Browns Gardens St Giles Peruke Maker taken upon
Oath this 1st May 1764 before us Two of his Majestys
Justices of the peace in & for the Said County.

This Informant being upon her Oath as aforesaid Saith that she has been
acquainted with Ann Davis< no role > deceased upwards of Six years before her death. That
to this Informants knowledge the decease was in very good health till Thursday
the 5 April last. When in the Evening of that Day the deceased complained to this
Informant that She had been that Evening violently beat by a Man who called himself
her Husband but whose Name is James Mulford< no role > & that the Deceased told this Informt.
that two of her Ribs were broke & that on the next Day the Deeased told her that she
had lain at a Door in Soho Square An night and this Informant got some Opodeldoe
and ancinted her with it & bound her round with Rolers, that in the Evening of that
Day (meaning Friday) she was in Company wth the Said Ann Davis< no role > at the Sign of the
Bull & Butcher in Browns Gardens that She had not quilled the Company of the Said Ann
Davis
< no role > more than 5 Minutes before she heard herself called by the Said Ann who upon
this Informants going to her in the Street found her bleeding with a Wound On her Head
& beleives that She lost upwards of a Quart of Blood. and the next Morning (meaning
Saturday) the Said Ann being Very Ill told this Informant that She beleived that Mary
Hargrave
< no role > and James Mulford< no role > had given her a Death Blow and hoped if she died that
some good Christian wou'd See Justice done to her. And this Informt. Saith that there was
great probability of her recovery As she apprehended Untill the Saturday was Sevenight
before the Tuesday on which She died. But finding ye Said Ann Worse on the Said Saturday
She told this Informant that a Quarrel Happening in Mrs. Hargrave House She went down
being in a Sweat without Stockings & only a thin Hannel paticoat & that She Apprehended
She Caught Cold and She continued Worse every Day untill the Sundays Sevenight following
when she became delicous and so continued till the time of her Death.
