This Indenture Witnesseth, that I John Suple of the Parish of
Maids Mill in the County of Cark of his own free will & Accord
doth put himself Apprentice to Capr. Thomas Forster< no role >
to learn his ART,and with him [after the manner of an Apprentice] to dwell, and Serve from the Twelth
day of June One thousand Seven hundred and Sixty unto the full End
and term of Three Years from thence next following to be fully compleat and ended. During which time, the said
Apprentice his said Masr. faithfully shall serve, his secrets keep, and lawful commandments every where gladly do; He shall do
no damage to his said Masr. nor see it to be done of others, but that he to his Power, shall let, or forthwith give warning to
his said Masr. of the same. he shall not waste the Goods of his said Master nor give, nor lend them unlawfully to any.
he shall not commit Furnication, nor contract Matrimony within the said Term. Hurt to his said Master shall not do, cause
nor procure it to be done of others, he shall not play at Cards, Dice, Tables, or any other unlawful Games where by his said Masr.
may have loss with his own, or others Goods during the said Term without Licence of his said Master shall neither buy nor sell.
He shall not haunt nor use Travens, Ale-houses, nor Play-houses, nor absent himself from his said Masr. Service Day nor Night
unlawfully, but in all Things as an honest and faithful Apprentice he shall behave himself towards his said Master and all
during the said Term. And the said Master shall learn his said Apprentice in the said ART which he
now useth, by the best way and means that he can, shall teach and instruct,or cause to be thought and instructed, with due correction,
finding unto him said Apprentice Meat, Drink, washing and Lodging, besitting such an Apprentice during the said
Term, according to the Custom of Seasaring Apprentice's
And said Capr. Thomas Forster< no role > Obliuges myself to give unto his said apprentice Two pound ten Shills
the First year & three pounds ten the Second and Four Pound her. for the Third and last year towards
Clothing the Said Apprentice.
And for the true perfomance of all and every, the said Covenant and Agreements, either of the said Parish bindeth himself to
the other by these Presents.IN WITNESS whereof, the Parish above-named to these Indentures, interchangably have put their
Hands and Seals, the Twelth Day of June in the Year four LORD, one thousand Seven hundred and Sixty.
