Taken before me this 13th. day
of Sepr. 1762

Who being upon Oath says that he knows one
Mark Servt. to Mr. Clarke of Hogg Lane, one Terris
Servt. to the same, John Wicks< no role > Servt. to Mr. Essex
Brewer in the Cole Yard, one William Servt. to
Mr. Healing, one George at Mr. Steels the white
Horse in Shorts Gardens, Robert Everet< no role > of York
Buildings Soldier in the Kings Company in the first
Regimt. of Guards, and David Cooper< no role > of the Surry
Militia, says that he in Company with all the sd.
Persons hath been guilty of olivers Felonies in
Stealing of Butts and Casks from Brewers and that
one Clarke of Hogg Lane has constanly read the same
well knowing them to be Stolen, says that he this Informt.
has seen the said Clarke take out the Marks of Butts
and other Casks belonging to Mr. Gifford, Mr. Cox, Mrs. Hicks
Aldn. CalvertandMr. Iles and Mr. Masons after they have been so Stolen
and brought to him for Sale, says that the General Price
which the said Clarke used to give for Porter Butts was
from seven Shillings to half a Guinea some of them being
often as good as New ones, says that said Clarke has also
[..] Sent his Drayout at different times at 10 & 11 or Clock
at Night to fetch to his House Stolen Butts and other
Casks and at other times left the key of his Gates
with his Servants inder that Stolen Butts & other
Casks as aforesaid might be brought in at all hours
in the Night, and this Informt. farther says that about
Ctristinas last he in Contrary with said Johns Wicks< no role >
