The Humble petition and Appeale
of the Churchwardens and Overseers of
the poor of the parish of St. Clemt: danes
in the County of Middlesex

Sheweth

That by an Order under the hands &
Seals of Stephen Clarke< no role > & Saunders Welch< no role > Esqrs: two of
his Majesty's Justices of the peace for the County of Middx
(one of the Quorum) bearing date the 20th day of May 1762
a Male Bastard Child Named Robert< no role > aged upwards of
three Years and a Female Bastard Child named
Barbara < no role > aged abt. 18 Months both born of the Body
of Ann Gray< no role > This name instance is in set 458. This set is in the group(s): MothersPS . Singlewoman were removed from the
Parish of St Andrew Holborn above Barrs in the County
of Middx aforesaid to the sd: parish of St Clement
Danes as the place of their last legall Settlement
whereby your Petitioners conceive them selves to be
agrieved and against the said order do Appeale

Your Petitioners therefore humbly pray
that the benefit of the sd: Appeale may be
Saved to them and that the hearing and
Determining thereof may be Adjourned
untill the next Genll: Quarter Session of
the peace to be held for the said County of
Middlesex
