His Majesty King George the second departed this Life on the 25th Day of
October- & the Sessions not beginning till the 1st. of Decr followance
Severall of the Justices in the Comn of the Peace for this County of [..]
Thomas Law< no role > Esqr . Chairman of the Sessions desireing he wou'd give [..]
to the Cryer of the Court to summonallthe Gentlemenin the in [..] in ye sd [..] Concll.of
to meet att some certain Day of time att Hicks's Hall in order to consider of an Address
to his present Majesty St G th. 3d. A Summons was accordingly
sent to every Justice of the Peace in the C. of M who had qualifyed
accordingas the Act directs to meet att Hicks's Hall on the 19th. Day of
Novr. next ensuing. When att a numerous Meeting of the Just
for the sd County they came to ye following Resolutions

Att Hicks Hall 19th of Novr 1760.

Resolved that an Humble Address of Condolance & Congratula
tion be prosecuted to his Majestyon ye In [..] Occasion be drawn up & prefaced

Resolved That itt be referred to Thomas Lane< no role > Esqr Chairman Aq Sess Sr.
Wm B. P. Barr & George Cooke< no role > Esqr the two Knights of the Shire for
this County to draw up & prepare such Address andytthey are
desired to lay the same before a Comll. of his Majesties 1 of yrs 8
Resolved That
for this County on Tuesday ye 2d. of Decr next ye the sd. Address
may then be approved of settled by ye sd Concell. in Order ye ye same may
be laid before ye Court on Thursday, ye 4th of Decr. being the
County Day, for their final Approbation. That ye I of ye sd now
present a as many as shall please to come be of yt Comll
& ye summonsesNotice of such Meeting be sent to every I of ye sd for this County qua [..]
lifyed as the Act directsreqrequesting yrs. to attend

Resolved Thatitt is the Opinion of attthe Justicesinto
present
of the Peace for ye County of Midx have by
Usage & Custom a Right when ever any Address is presen [..]
ted to the King to attend their Chairman in a Body & not by a select
Comee only.

Resolved That Thomas Lane< no role > Esqr . Chairman of
the sd Sessions do wait on his Grace the D. of New. sd Lieut & Cus. Rot for
this County & acquaint his Grace wth. the last above Resoln.
2. Decr. 1760.

Thomas Lane< no role > Esqr Chairman of ye Sess . reported That he had atten-
ded his G the D of N in pursuance of the Order of ye 19th. of Novr.
last And ye his Grace acquainted him yt in the Year 1719 on the
Accession of his Majesty King George ye st. to the Throne.
