The Parish of Weybridge in the County of Surry Applts.
and
The Parish of Littleton in the County of MiddxRespondents

By an order under the Hands & Seals of Sir Thos. Frederick< no role > Bart and J Rowles Esquire Two of his Majesties Justices of the Peace for the said County of
Middex andDated 28d. Jany 1758. For the removing of James Ward< no role > from the said Parish of Littleton to the said Parish of Weybridge
(which Order is hereunto annext)

Appellants

Case Wm Ward< no role > For the Pauper James Ward< no role > came wth. Catherine < no role > his Wife to inhabit in the said Parish of Weybridge By Virtue of a Certificate
under the Hand & Seal of William Chandler< no role > Sole Churchwarden and Overseer of the poor of the said Parish of Littleton , which Certificate bears date
11th. March 1720 and attested by Two Witnesses and allowed by Ric Reynell< no role > & N Mason Two of his Majesties Justices of the peace for the said County
of Middlesex as is directed by the Act of 8 & 9 of Wm 3d.

In the Year 1724 the Pauper James Ward< no role > was born in the said Parish of Weybridge , and at about the age of 13 Years he went to live
with one James Buck< no role > of Weybridge with whom he lived about 2 Years made no Bargain nor was never hired to the said James Buck< no role > by the year
nor received no Wages Had he been hired for a year as is required by the Act and served the Year in Weybridge (where the Certificate of his
Father was granted to) without being first hired for a Year and serving the Year in another Parish cannot gain a Settlement in Wey bridge
under the Certificate of his Father

Littleton is a very small Parish and has but one Churchwarden and one Overseer, and often times One Person serves both the offices
of Churchwarden & Overseer as you'l see, was the Case, when this Certificate was granted

By the Act of 3 Geo: 2d. Sect 8 All Certificates granted before the 24th. June 1720 shall be taken and allowed in all Courts as
Evidence without other Proof, Provided the same were duly attested and allowed by Two of his Majesties Justices of the Peace of the Cy from whence
such Certificate was granted
