At the General Session of the Peace of our Sovereign Lord the king holden for the County of Middx at
Hicks Hall in St. John Street in the County aforesaid by adjournment on Wednesday the fourteenth day of May
in the twenty eighth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the second King of Great Britain Etc
before Thomas Lane< no role > George Errington< no role > George Greene< no role > Walter Berry< no role > Esqrs . and others their Fellows
Justices of our said Lord the King assigned to keep the Peace in the County aforesaid and also to hear and
determine divers Felonies Trespasses and other Misdeeds committed in the same County.

Where as the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of St. Mary at Rotherhille in
the County of Surry have exhibited their humble Petition and Appeal unto this Court Setting forth That
by an Order or Warrant of Removal under the Hands and Seals of Francis Bedwell< no role > and Bartholomew
Hammond
< no role > Esquires two of his Majestys Justices of the Peace for the County of Middx Dated the
twenty fourth Day of April One thousand seven hundred and fifty five Sarah Ross< no role > Wife of Thomas
Ross
< no role > (on board his Majestys Ship Gibralter at Portsmouth ) and their Child [..] named Mary< no role > ass [..]
five Weeks were removed and conveyed from the parish of Saint Clement Danes in the said County
of Middx to the said Parish of St. Mary at Rotherhith as the place ofthe last legal Settlement of
the last legal Settlement of the said Thomas Ross< no role > And that the Petitioners being aggrieved by the
said Removal humbly appealed against the same Whereupon at the request of the Petitioners
It is Ordered by this Court that the benefit of the said Appeal be saved unto them And that
the hearing and determinning thereof be and the same is hereby adjourned untill the next
General Quarter Session of the Peace to be holden for the said County of Middx And that the
Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of Saint Clement Danes (upon
Notice of this Order) and all Persons concerned do attend the Court of the said next General
Quarter Session of the Peace to be holden for the said County of Middx by adjournment on
Thursday the third day of July next at ten of the Clock in the Forenoon to hear and abide
the Judgment and Determination of the same Court touching the said Appeal.
