To His Majesty's Justices of the Peace for
the County of Middx in their General
Session of the Peace Assembled

The Humble Petition of the Church
Wardens & Overseers of the Poor of the
Parish of Enfield in the said County

Sheweth


That on or about the twenty first day of
July last one Elizabeth< no role > the wife of
Thomas Wakefield< no role > was found Wandring
and begging in the said Parish And being
sent to the Workhouse there was
delivered of a Female Child baptized by
the Name of Ann < no role > whereby She and her
said Child became Chargeable to the
Sd. Parish

That Yor Petrs. did detain the said
Woman in their Workhouse until
the 12th. day of August last when they
Conveyed her before Merry Teshmaker< no role >
Esqr . one of His Majesty's Justices of ye.
peace for this County who upon Exam-
ination of ye. sd. Vagrant did by a Pass
under his Hand & Seal order & direct her
to be Conveyed to the Parish of Jarro in
the Bishoprick of Durham being the
place of her last legall Settlement

Yor Petr. therefore humbly Pray that Yor.
Worships will be Pleas'd to order the
Trear of this County to pay yor. Petrs.
such a Sum of money as you shall
Adjudge a reasonable Satisfaction for
the Charges the sd. Parish has been put
unto on Accot. of the lying in of ye sd. Elizth
Wake
