That by an Act made in the Twenty ninth Year<lb></lb>
of the reign of his late Majesty King Charles the Second No<lb></lb>
Droven horse courser waggoner butcher or Higher should travel<lb></lb>
or come into their Inn or lodging upon the Lords day upon<lb></lb>
pain to forfeit Twenty Shillings and if any Person offending<lb></lb>
in the Premisses should be Convicted before any Justice of the<lb></lb>
Peace upon View or Confession of the party or proof of one Witness<lb></lb>
by Oath the forfeitures are to be levied by distress and Sale of<lb></lb>
goods and in default of distress the offender Should be set in the<lb></lb>
Stocks two hours</p>
<p n="271">That it has been the constant method (till lately) for<lb></lb>
the Drovers bringing Cattle out of the Country to Smith field<lb></lb>
market to lodge their Cattle in the Grounds or Inns in and abt.<lb></lb>

& usually Came into these Inns with such Cattle on a<lb></lb>
Saturday to be in Readiness for Mondays market but now and<lb></lb>
for some time past the Drovers instead of coming to their Inns<lb></lb>
with their Cattle on a Saturday do not come in till the Sunday<lb></lb>
Morning which the Petitioners Conceive is not only an undue<lb></lb>
Observation of the Lords day a Violation of the above Law but<lb></lb>
also a Very Greivous Nusance</p>
<p n="272">That the Petitioners without the interposition of this<lb></lb>
Hounourable Court are unable to put in execution the above good &<lb></lb>
Wholsome Law and Therefore</p>
<p n="273">Humbly Pray Your Worships to take the Premisses<lb></lb>
into your serious Consideration and give such<lb></lb>
directions to the high Constables of the Division<lb></lb>
in Order to Suppress such great & growing evils<lb></lb>
or to grant the Petitioners such Relief as to your<lb></lb>
Worships shall seem meet</p>
