The Examination of Peter Oldfield< no role > of
St. Giles in the Fields in the Said County
Hatter taken before me Henry Fielding< no role >
Esqr . One of Majesty. Justices of the
Peace for the said County. this 14 Feb
1749

This Examinant Confesseth and Sayeth that on
the 13th Instant he met Edward Busly< no role > James Stanton< no role >
otherwise Hobart< no role > and William Russel< no role > at the Turnpiks
at Islington . That Some time afterwards the said
Busly Hobart and Stanton assaulted a Gentleman
in the Street in his Chair and Stanton robbed him
of his Sword. That this Examinant Stood within
three or four Yards during the time of the said Rolley
to the Chairmen who carried the said Chair
Says that about an Hour afterwards he was present
when the abovementioned persons assaulted and the
Gentleman in his Chair in the Street. Says that
Stanton assaulted the Said Gentleman and wch a
Watch from him. says that he this Examinant
during the time of this last Robbery Stood behind
the cheir within a yard or two of the hinder
Chairman.
