Thursday 6th: July 1749.

Deposicons touching the Death of one Richd. Norris< no role > Killd
by a Boxing match in the Liberty of Norton Falgate taken before John
King
< no role > Esqr . Cowner for the County of Middx

Ann Blackwall< no role > Servt . to Mr. Clark in Elder Street
maketh Oath & Saith that on Tuesday Night the 4th: of July 1749.
about a Quarter after ten, being at her Masters Door, She saw the
Tap house boy one they Called Wm. Stanton going Linging along
And Mr. Berrys two Servants being at the Door One of them sd. to the
boy you sing very prettily, You will by Yr. Linging bring Customers
to Yr. Masters house, And that one of Mr. Berry's Apprentices Richd.

< no role > the Deced . and the boy Wm. Stanton< no role > went soon after to fighting
And heard the boy say you dont use me well for you Struck me twice
when I was done, Says that they went to it my Consent And the Boy
the Surviver had the most blows, Says presently after she saw
the Deced lyeing on the Ground & heard him Groan very much
& that he was then had in doors but heard that he was Dead

Jane Burrage< no role > Opposite the Elder tree maketh Oath &
saith that she heard the Ale house boy call the Deced a Monkey
& that he would make a Monkey of him, And that the Ale house boy
& the Deced went to fighting & that she heard One of them say
you dont do fair for you Strike me where I am down, But soon
after she saw the Deced on the Ground & heard that he was Dead

John Miller< no role > Apprentice to Mr. Berry of Elder Street
maketh Oath & Saith that on Tuesday Night, At the Ale house boy
Wm. Stanton< no role > was going along singing this Depont. sd. you sing so
well you will bring Customers to Yr. Masters House, Saye the Boy
then went a long about his Business, But returning soon after
this Depont. then sd. here he comes again & then the boy calld
in a both Monkeys and that he would knock both their heads
together, Says upon which his fellow Apprentice & the sd. Stanton
the boy went to fighting, but had not fought long before his
follow prentice fell down & presently after found that he was dead.
