This is to give notice to the Inhabitants of the parish of St.
Leonard Shoreditch in the said County that there being time
out of mind a comon and ancient Kings Highway leading
from the Town of Hackney in the County of Middx to the parish
Church of St. Leonard Shoreditch in the same County and from
thence towards and to the City of London for persons to pass &
repass with Horses Coaches Carts and Carriages, and that part
of the said Highway lying and being in the said parish of St.
Leonard Shoreditch in the County aforesaid containing in
length five hundred yards and in breadth twelve foot being
on the first day of January last and continually afterwards
untill this Nineteenth day of [..] February
instant at the parish aforesaid being very Ruinous founderous
and in great decay for want of Repaire so that his Maties
Subjects could not pass and repass along the said way with
their Horses Coaches Carts and Carriages for the time aforesd
without great danger, they the said Inhabitants of the sd
parish of St. Leonard Shoreditch are and Stand presented
at this present General Sessions of the peace this day he
at Hicks hall in St. John Street in and for the County of
Middx by Henry Norris< no role > and Alexander Garrett< no role > Esqrs. two
his Maties Justices of the peace for the said County for
repairing and amending the said Highway so ruinous
founderous and in decay as aforesaid which the said
Inhabitants ought to do as often and when needitShall
require, And this is further to give notice to the Inhabitants
of the said parish that they are fined fifty pounds by his
Maties Justices of the peace for the said County now
assembled [..] at the said Sessions And that the same
