The Information of William Steele< no role > of the
Parish of St. Clements Danes in the
County of Middx Tobacconist

Who Says that last Night about 8 a Clock as he was going from
Clare Market along Lincolns Inn Fields towards Newcastle house
in order to go to Red Lyon Square , he happened to follow some
Persons who were talking of some misfortune that should happen
to the King tomorrow as his Majesty should Pass overthe Sandy
End Bridge in his way to London (which is a little Bridge beyond
Parsons Green in the Kings Road to London) That one of them
looking back this Informant turned towards the Wall prtending
to make Water but the said Psons suspecting that he had overhe [..]
them laid hold of him & Questioned him whether he had heard who
they Said to which he Answering that he had not minded it, one
or two of them drew their Swords. and another pulled out a
Pistoll & they used sevral Expressions to him threatning to put
him to death if he dionlged what he had heard, & pull his house
down about his Ears and they forced him to take an Oath, laying his
hand upon the Pistol the Lock and Muzzle of which they made his
Kiss that he would never reveal what he had heard and that they Kept
him in their Custody carrying him from place to place but not into
any house, from that time till about 12 of the Clock that Might
when they perted with him at his own door which they would
not do till they weretheSatisfyed that he lived there, This he
Supposes they did to prevent his going that Night into any
Company to whom he might relate what had happened to
him. That he does not Know any of these Persons or
remember that he Saw any of them before, and it being in the
Night and the Consternation into which they put him being ve [..]
great, he cannot describe any of them, Nor does he beleive he
should Know them again were he to See them, nor can he given [..]
any Account of any other places or Streets besides Lincolns [..]
