for himself says yt he has for 40 Years Past lived in ye sd.Street called Coventry Street And
yt his Father as he beleives was a Housekeeper in ye sd. Street for 50 Years or there abouts
& has often heard his Father in his lifetime say yt ye Stones Set up at ye upper end of ye
Hay Markett were Set up by ye Justices of ye Peace as ye boundaries there of And ye
Said Samll. [..] ugby for himself Says yt in ye Year 1691 he became Apprentice to his
late Master Since deced who then lived in Piccadilly that his Mar (at this Dept. has
often heard him Say) Served his Apprentiship in ye Hay Markettt & hat often heard
him Say yt ye sd. Stones were Setup as ye boundaries of ye sd. Markett And this Dept.
further Says yt he afterwards lived as a Journyman in ye sd. Markett for abt. y Years &
afterwards lived in ye sd. Street 16 Years or there about as an House Keeper And this
Dept. Richard Penlington< no role > for himself Says yr for 17 Years past he has known ye sd.
Hay Markett And all these Depts.Say yt they always understood yt ye sd. House were
ye bounds of ye sd. Markett & yt they were setup by yr Justices of ye Peace or their
Order as ye bounds thereof & all of them Say yt they have Many times [..] ye Paviour
appointed by yr Justices for paving & repairing ye sd. Markett pave & repair ye sd.
Street upto ye sd. Stones at yr bounds thereof
