Whereas by an Order of the Genl: Quarter Sessions of the peace Dated the Eleventh Day of July Last att.
Hicks Hall in this County Upon the Appeal of Charles Bere< no role > Esqr : from the poors Rate of the Hamblet of
Hamersmith in the Parish of Fulham in this County on the behalf of himself & other Inhabitants of the sd:
Hamblet Agrieved by the sd. Rate, It is recomended & referred Unto his Majties. Justices of the peace for this
County resideing within Kensington Division in the same County or Any two or more of them to Convene
before them the Church wardens & Overseers of the poor of the parish of Fulham & Hamblet of Hamersmith
in this County And to Examine into the truth of the Matters Alledged in the Sd. Appeal And to Report their
Opinions in Writing touching the same to the Court of the Next Genll. Quarter Sessions of the peace to
be held for this County to the End such further Order may be made As the Court shall think Just,
And Upon Examination of the Churchwardens And Overseers of the poor & other Antient Inhabitants of the
sd. Hamblet & by Inspecting into the Book of the sd. Rates, It Does Appear Unto Us & wee doe find that the sd. Rate
is A pound Rate Charged Upon the Inhabitants at two Shillings in the pound Etc And Collected half Yearly And
that the sd. Charles Bere< no role > Esqr : is Over Charged in the Sd. Rate & that Severall Other Inhabitants in the Sd. Hamblet
are likewise Over Charged in the sd. poors Rate & Severall others Considerably Under Charged in the sd: Rate

And Further upon Examination it Appears Unto Us that there are Severall Inhabitants in the Sd: Hamblet of
Hammersmith that are not Charged at all in the sd. Poors Rate but Wholly Omitted wch. Ought to be Charged on
on the sd. Rates And perticularly the persons following (Vizt.) Mr. Skinner who Either holds or Rents to the
Vallue of Fifty pounds & Ann in the sd. Hamblet & Jno. Hinton< no role > who Rents tenn pounds & Ann in the sd. Hamblet &
likewise Mrs. Price Who Rents a house of four pounds & Ann in the sd. Hamblet wch. sd. three persons Are not
Charged Att all As aforesd: Now Wee Reginald Marriott< no role > & Nicholas Bland< no role > Esqr : Two of his Majties
Justices of the peace Resideing within Kensington Division Aforsd: haveing Meet and Examined into the
sd. Rates Doe make this our Report that the Matters Above related are Matters of fact And wee Doe
Adjudge the same Poors Rate to be A very Unequall & Illegall Rate All wch. Wee Submitt to the Judgement
and Determination of this Court Given under our hands this thirteenth Day of Augst: Annoqr
