Whereas Thomas strode< no role > exhibited his humble
peticon & appeale unto the Court of Generall
Quarter Sessions of the peace holden for this County
by adjornmt. on Tuesday the sixth day of April
last setting forth that the Petr. was by vertue of a
Warrant issued out under the hand & seale of James
Jenyns
< no role > Esqr . one of his Maties. Justices of the peace for
the said County dated the thirteenth day ofFebru
February last past against him & one John Wright< no role >
Journey man Cordwainer taken up and brought
before the said James Jenyns< no role > for pawning and
takeing to pawne a certaine quantity of goods of one
James Laver< no role > Cordwainer contrary to an Act of
parliament in that case made & provided, and was
convicted of the same before the said Justice And in
obedience to the said conviccon the Petr. paid to the
said James Laver< no role > the sume of seventeen shilling
for his pretended loss & damage in detaining
a pair of Woman's shoes that the said Laver then
alledged was his and pawned by the sd. Wright
to the Petr. and charges in getting the same, tho really
& bona fide the said pair of Womans shoes was
not worth three shillings & six pence, and that the
same was taken out of pawne from the Petrs. wife
about a fortnight before the said Warrant was
granted, And that the Petr. finding himselfe aggreived
by the said Conviccon did (pursuant to the direccon of
