WHEREAS due Proof hath been made before (Us whose
Names are Subscribed) two of his Majesty's Justices of the
Peace for the County and Liberty aforesaid (Quor Unus) In-
habiting in or next the Limits of the Parish Church of St.
James within the Liberty and County aforesaid; upon Oath of

Bastard Child Born of her Body ontheSeventh [..] day of
January 1717/8 in the House ofMr Cumming in Glass house Street
in the said Parish of St. James, Westminster . That oneLeonard Broust< no role >
Goaldid beget the said Bastard Child on
the Body of the saidMary Thorn< no role > , new Ball< no role > so born as afore-
said, which is become chargeable to the said Parish of St. James Westminster ,
as the Church Wardens and Overseers of the Poor there of have compla [..]
ned. We the said Justices upon the Examination of the saidMary Thorn< no role >
Now Ball< no role > .Mother of the saidMale Bastard
Child, and other convincing Circumstances, Us hereunto moving, Do
hereby Adjudge and Declare the saidLeonard Broust< no role >
to be the reputed Father of the saidMale Bastard Child born of the
Body of the saidLate Mary Thorn< no role > new Ball< no role > as aforesaid;
And there upon, We do Order as well for the Relief, as to save harmless
and keep Indemnified the said Parish of St. James, as for maintaining
and keeping the saidMale Bastard Child, That he the saidLeonard
Broust
< no role > shall forth with pay or cause to be paid into the Church War-
dens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of St. James, or to [..]
or one of them, [..] Eleven Shillings and Six pence of [..]
pay of Great Britain by the Week, for the first four Weeks from [..]
[..] into saidand as [..]
[..] the Expire [..] of the said first four Weeks, The said
[..] be paid unto [..] Church War-
dens and Overseers [..] Poor of the [..]

Weekly and every Week the Sum of Two Shillings and
Six pence of [..] lawful Money, for and towards the Relief and Maintain-
ance of the saidMale Bastard Child, for and during so long a Time
as the saidMale Bastard Child shall remain chargeable to the said
Parish of St. James, Westminster . And lastly, We do Order that the said
Leonard Broust< no role > do forth with on Notice of this our Order (a
true Copy being deliver'd unto him) Give sufficient Security to the Church
Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of St. James for the
Performance of this our Order. Otherwise to find sufficient Sureties for
his personal Appearance at the next general Quarter Sessions of the Peace to
be held for the County of Middlesex, there to answer his Contempt and to
abide such farther Orders as the Justices there shall think fit to make there in.
